Five Years: our anniversary

Today is John and I's 5 year wedding anniversary! I can't believe we have been married for 5 years, it feels like it has flown by. To celebrate, last weekend we went to Asheville and stayed at the wonderful Bittersweet Cottage. As you can see from the photos I took at sunset from our suite, it was gorgeous! We had a very low-key weekend just eating good food, reading by the fire and admiring our breathtaking view. It was wonderful and a much needed break after a busy season of work and before the craziness of the holidays and having a baby ensue. John and I are both HUGE chocolate lovers, so we did venture out on Saturday afternoon to indulge at French Broad, an amazing little chocolate cafe in downtown Asheville. I highly recommend it. We are still working on the delicious box of truffles we brought home as a souvenier.
Anyways, I just wanted to wish my amazing husband a happy anniversary. I am so grateful for the wonderful years we have spent together. Thank you, John, for all of the laughter, comfort, strength and joy you have given me. Thank you for walking through the depths with me. You are so much more than my husband, you are truly my best friend. I am so thankful for these last seven years together (five of marriage) and can't wait to walk with you through the new adventures that the next five years will bring us. I love you with all of my heart!

Ben and Bethany: the wedding

Last week John and I photographed our last wedding of the season! I can't believe how quickly this year flew by. We had such a great time with all of our clients and can't thank all of you enough for letting us be a part your weddings! We had such a wonderful time with Ben and Bethany last Saturday. I did an engagement shoot with them last April at the Duke Gardens, so I've been looking forward to this wedding all year. They are such a wonderful couple, so easy to be around and so sweet with one another. The wedding was at the Longview Center in Raleigh, and was just beautiful. Here are a few of our favorites from the evening.Ben is an avid runner, so John captured some great shots of him running with his cross country teammates...I love Bethany's veil, it was stunning...we found this gorgeous red tree across the street from the Longview Center, I can't believe how well it went with their wedding colors...just lovely...all the bridesmaids looking at Bethany's rings after the ceremony...I always love the first sweet moments as husband and wife...Before we took some portraits, Ben and Bethany rang the Longview Center's bell, it was adorable! I couldn't resist the gorgeous Christmas lighting with Bethany's veil...On to the reception...
and lastly, one of my new favorite photos...Thanks again, Ben and Bethany! I hope Costa Rica has been wonderful!!

And thanks again to all of our amazing wedding clients who made our first season in North Carolina so wonderful!!

My new blog!

Welcome to my NEW blog. I've been so busy this season, I haven't had a chance to update my blog format, but I am so excited to have finally found some time. This is a work in progress, I'm a little computer and internet illiterate, so bear with me and hopefully we will all be pleased with the final result! I am most excited about being able to show my photos in a larger format. Enjoy the new blog and stay tuned for some fun posts in the next couple weeks...
