Sara's Bachelorette

This weekend I had the great privilege to celebrate my dear friend, and college roommate Sara. We met up in Charlottesville for one last girls weekend before her big wedding day, June 16th. We had a great weekend full of laughter and lots of yummy Charlottesville food (thanks to Take-it-Away, Bodo's and Arch's). Here are a few shots I snapped just to document the weekend. We can't wait for Sara and Clay's big day!!

Jaclyn and Brian

This weekend, I assisted photographer Kristen Gardner with a wedding in Marshall, Virginia. Jaclyn and Brian chose an outdoor wedding on her parents' beautiful property in Fauquier County. Sadly, it turned out to be a rainy day, but that didn't put a damper on their lovely tented ceremony or horse drawn carriage ride. Because I was assisting this wedding, my images are focused on angles and perspectives that the main photographer may not have been able to capture. Thanks, Kristen, for giving me this opportunity! You can check Kristen out at her website, www.kristengardner.com.

Berlin, Germany

Soon to be our new home, Berlin, Germany is a fascinating city. Full of history, this city tells a beautiful story about suffering, struggle, oppression and rebirth. The effects of WWII are unavoidable here. As you casually walk the streets, you pass many destroyed buildings and monuments. One thing the Germans will never do is forget. Their honesty is bold and can be seen everywhere. For the brief time I was there with my husband interviewing for what will be his new job, I hope that I was able to do justice to a city with so much depth. Since we will be there for the next three years, I am certain there will be many more photos to come.

Judah

A few weeks ago, while staying with my new little nephew, his mother and I subjected him to a photo shoot. At two months old, Judah already has a little personality. His eyes light up when he laughs or emphatically attempts to talk, but they can also be serious and meaningful, revealing an unexpected depth. We kept this infant indoors for his pictures, keeping him in the places he is most comfortable like his room (especially his changing table, which he loves) and around his house. Allowing him to interact with people he loves, I was able to reveal the natural and loveable side of this sweet, blue-eyed little guy.
