The Andersons

When I first met the Anderson girls, two years ago, they greeted me at their door wearing ballerina tutus ready to play. At that moment I knew we would be great friends. Over the next two years I had the opportunity to spend many an afternoon watching Hannah and Shelby while their parents went out. This weekend, when I got to photograph them at Pen Park in Charlottesville, I saw how their personalities have stayed the same while they've continued to grow. As always, we had so much fun playing and laughing together. They are the sweetest of sisters and friends! Here are a few of my favorites from the evening...

The Bullards

This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the sweet Bullard family. I have known the Bullards for about six years now, and am constantly amazed by them. They are one of the most loving and welcoming families I have ever met. They are a very athletic family who love to play sports and swim. So I met the Bullards and their foster children, at their pool, Fry Springs, to get some pictures of them swimming and playing around. All of the kids are good friends who love playing and being with one another. Here are a couple of my favorites...

The Thomas Family

Last weekend John and I went to Charlottesville for UVA's graduation. It was great to be back and while we were there I had the opportunity to photograph a few families. It was a busy weekend so make sure to keep checking in this week to see some adorable portraits!
The first family I got to photograph was the Thomas family. While John finished up his PhD I did quite a bit of babysitting, and the Thomases were one of the families I spent the most time with. Ben and Karen are very dedicated to making sure they get plenty of time alone, so they made sure they had a weekly date night. I met the Thomas family at the Monticello Walking Trail, which is full of lovely trees that made for interesting backdrops and gorgeous lighting. We just let the kids play around picking flowers and berries, hiding-out and of course tackling one another, as well as, their parents. The Thomases have a great time together, you can tell the kids were having a blast! Here are a few of my favorites from the day...
