Luke

This Saturday John and I drove up to Arlington, VA, to meet our new nephew, Luke. He is absolutely adorable (as all my nieces and nephews are) and so fun to hold. He is so little and snuggly! I am always amazed at how little they are when they are first born. Neither John or I could resist taking a few pictures of this precious little guy. Congratulations again Shawnette and Rich, he is amazing!

Janet

On Thursday I met Janet and her friend Jen at the Duke Gardens for a bridal portrait session. It was a gorgeous day so we took our time, making sure we really utilized all of the beautiful spring flowers, great lighting and fun backgrounds in the gardens. We had a great time together! Jen brought blown up pictures of Janet's fiance, Steve and got some of their friends to surprise her with them to help Janet feel relaxed. They were hilarious! Janet has amazing blue eyes and smile. She is such a naturally beautiful bride, she was such a joy to photograph. Janet and Steve are getting married next month in Salt Lake City, but she was sweet enough to let me go ahead and post some of my favorite shots.

Easter Weekend

This weekend was gorgeous here in Durham. We took advantage of the amazing 70 degree weather on Saturday, and took a picnic lunch from Foster's over to the Duke Gardens. The gardens are beginning to bloom and are beautiful! We took my dog Sam who was extremely happy to be out and about in such great weather. Here are a couple shots of the beautiful flowers as well as my very happy dog.

Unfortunately for Sam, the Easter candy was too much of a temptation. After the Gardens, we left him at the house for awhile and he couldn't resist a 14oz bag of Easter colored peanut M&M's. He was extremely bloated and miserable all night. But who can blame him? Peanut M&M's are amazing! I have to say, I was a little disappointed that he didn't leave any for us. I had to take some pictures of how huge he was...he looked like a stuffed sausage! I think it is hilarious how happy he was at the park and how pitiful he looked after the candy. These pictures aren't good but man they make me laugh.

The Old Feed Store

Last week I had the opportunity to shoot a really fun photography project. I was hired to photograph an old store that is getting ready to be torn down. The project is a gift for the store owner from his wife. She wanted mostly black and whites to really portray store's rustic and welcoming charm. It is a shame that is has to go, but I did get to peek into the new store which looks beautiful. Here are a couple of my favorite shots of this adorable family run store!
