Hayston's First Week...

Well, it's been a whirlwind bringing home a new baby. John and I are doing really well and loving every minute with our adorable new little guy. He has been such a good baby that it has made the transition easier, but I think the crazy hours of a newborn are beginning to catch up with us. We are so thankful for all of the support from all of you and especially the help we have gotten from our families. You all are keeping us sane in the midst of the delirium!

We did want to share a few more pictures of Hayston. He changes SO much every day! We think he gets just cuter and cuter, but of course we are biased. So here are a few of the many adventures Hayston has had our first week home...

Coming home from the hospital...
First visit to the doctor...His first play time with Sam...Sam LOVES Hayston and has been so good with him, but I don't quite think he understands that Hayston isn't quite ready to play tug-of-war...
Just hangin' out...Practicing talking on the phone...His first bath...not a happy memory for the poor little guy...I know I'm his mom, but how adorable is that little guy!!

Hayston has arrived!!!

Well, after months of anticipation I FINALLY have a few photos to share of our new little baby boy. Hayston Davis Chappell was born Saturday, January 24th, 2009 at 5:51 pm. He is an enormous 9lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. We are so thrilled. He is adorable and so snuggly with his chubby little cheeks and sweet little face. Thanks so much for all of your support over the last few weeks and months. So here are a few photos of our new not so "little buddy..."

The crazy looking first photos of Hayston and yes, that is a newborn...Gotta love his double chin! His first moments with Mommy...And Daddy...All cleaned up and looking precious...I guess after spending months at weddings on and shoots with me, Hayston learned very quickly to smile for the camera. I can't believe we caught it!!! Thanks so much for all of your support over the last few weeks and months. I promise that once we get home I will be behind the camera and shooting MANY more!

Maternity Leave

Sorry to my blog followers that I have been neglecting my blog the last few weeks. I have been focusing on finishing up albums for my 2008 clients and preparing for the baby. It has been a really fun and relaxing time for me, I've been watching a lot of instant Netflix, sleeping and catching up on the things I've been behind on.

Although the baby has not yet arrived, I did want to officially announce that I am on maternity leave starting today. This means that I will not be accepting any weddings until May 2009 and will not accept portrait sessions until April 2009. I will however, continue to be working with my 2008 clients on getting album drafts approved so that we can get your albums printed as soon as possible. I will also be working on setting up consultations with any potential 2009 or 2010 wedding clients, so please continue to email and call so we can reserve your wedding dates! I will of course be blogging a ton about the new baby once he arrives, as well as, will be checking and responding to my emails as frequently as possible, but please just be patient with me!But until I can post a few photos of my new little boy...here are a few detail photos from my new favorite room in the house, his nursery...This is the same bassinet that I slept in when I was a baby, how sweet is that!and of course his black and white "Sam" dog...hopefully it will be his favorite toy!I promise to let you all know as soon as he arrives! I can't wait for us all to get to see him!!

Thank you, Thank you!

Happy New Year to all of my blog followers and clients. Before the baby comes and 2009 really starts to get going, I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of my 2008 clients.

To my lovely wedding clients, thank you for inviting me to capture the most important day of your lives. I loved every laugh, tear and crazy dance move that I had the opportunity to photograph. Each of you made me feel more like a guest than a vendor and I absolutely adored every minute of your weddings!

To my sweet portrait clients, thank you for welcoming me into your homes and lives. It was such a joy to capture each relationship and occasion. It was such a joy to laugh and play with all of you! Watching you and your families made me excited to start my own.

What can I say other than thank you, thank you, thank you! You, my wonderful clients, are the reason I am so passionate about what I get to do every day.

All the best for 2009!!
